Do You Think South Dakota Is Pro Mining?

Dear Friends of Black Hills Clean Water Alliance: We need your help to protect water and stop mining in the Black Hills. Today, Dakota Gold will tell you why.

You can read the investor pitch for yourself, here

Mining companies are telling investors all over the world that the Black Hills is “pro mining.”

Every day, BHCWA fights to change perception. We work to bring awareness to new mining operations, monitor existing ones, and empower the community to make their voices heard.

And the more we learn from you—the people who live here—it becomes clear that we aren’t pro mining at all. In fact, the thousands of people we talk to every year want…

  • Stricter state and federal mining regulations
  • Higher water quality standards
  • Protection of watersheds and aquifers
  • Preservation of sacred land
  • Respect for the people, animals, and plants who live here

We are NOT pro mining.

We are PRO water, PRO nature, and PRO people.

BHCWA is fighting for a future where the Black Hills region has a reputation for stopping mining activity before it can ever begin.

To continue this critical work, we need your support.

BHCWA is the frontline defense protecting water against mining activity in the Black Hills. It takes a full team to…

  • Monitor over 261,000 acres of active mining claims in the Hills
  • Update the community on new projects, water impacts, and opportunities to object
  • Educate the public on current technology and practices
  • Challenge the rhetoric, science, and legality of mining in the Hills
  • Organize opposition to new mining projects

And ultimately put an end to mining in the Black Hills.

To donate to the BHCWA,

Thank you for your unwavering support and commitment to protecting the Black Hills.

With gratitude,

Black Hills Clean Water Alliance
